Principal Software Test Engineer - Embedded

Neural Analytics, a fast-paced medical device company, is leading innovation for brain health assessment and is seeking a Principal Software Test Engineer.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical leadership in software testing engineering in the embedded firmware domain.
  • Accountable for the design, development and execution of system and software system test procedures.
  • Maintain requirements traceability metrics
  • Generate defect and test execution reports
  • Work closely with QA to support overall device objectives, release timelines and V&V strategies through test engineering
  • Work with development teams in an agile environment to provide support for sprint testing and design transfer to manufacturing
  • Follow rigorous test design methodology that re-enforce design and performance stability, product improvement and comprehensive test strategies
  • Write concise test specifications, verification plans and test cases
  • Collaborate with the software development teams in performing design or code reviews
  • Generate test reports for regulatory submission
  • Follow IEC 62304 as well as QMS and Design Control procedures.
  • Work with the development team to identify risks and generate appropriate plans
  • Support program management by assisting in the creation of scope, cost and duration estimates for software testing tasks.
  • Mentor software test engineers in the processes and test methodologies

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other physical science
  • 8-10 years of experience with electronics based software testing
  • Must have experience in medical device industry
  • Experience in developing software products with C/C++/C# preferred
  • Experience working with configuration management tools and defect tracking tools
  • Experienced in working with 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and IEC 62304
  • Must be energetic, hands-on, self-motivated, able to work independently and have strong interpersonal skills
