Principal Test Engineer


Neural Analytics, a medical device company based out of Los Angeles, CA, is searching for a Lead Test Engineer to oversee the company's QA test engineering department.  This position will integrate with the product development pipeline at the early planning phases and own testing and test development all the way through to product launch. The ideal candidate will have deep experience developing V&V test procedures and will have experience leading a small team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Program Management to define program requirements to be objectively testable.
  • Work with Product Management to define final product quality assurance tests.
  • Work with Manufacturing to define in-process test infrastructure and test methods.
  • Build test methods and test infrastructure to be able to objectively evaluate new designs and features.
  • Lead Verification and Validation Plan and Methodologies for new products.
  • Lead the test engineering group and assist in component and system level Verification and product Validation testing


  • 8-10 years experience in medical development lifecycle with at least 5 years as lead of QA and QA Test, verification / validation testing.
  • Exceptionally proficient with test method and test fixture development.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience and high comfort level with all phases of the product development lifecycle; including design, implementation, debug, verification, validation and transfer to manufacturing.
  • Testing of medical systems with hardware and software components, automation of tests, product design and reliability testing experience.
  • Testing to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Good familiarity with at least one structured language such as C++, C#, or Java
  • Experience with real-time control systems, embedded operating systems or othreal-time processing frameworks or robotics preferred.
  • Well versed in ISO 14791 and working knowledge of requirements standards IEC 62304, EN60601-1, EN60601-1-2 for medical equipment safety and EMC compliance and
  • Proven past success in a fast-paced, high-transaction environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and documentation skills.
  • Passion for creating robust and reliable products.
  • Start-up experience is a plus
